Midweek Confessions

Well, for those of you who don't know, I did an internet fast for 3 weeks.  Our church was doing a fast, and since I couldn't give up food, Todd and I gave up the internet.  So that's where I have been... if you missed me... if not, oh well!

But now I am back and ready to confess some things....

So I've linked up to E, Myself and I for Midweek Confessions.

1.  Yesterday was my first day back to school since having Thomas.  We dropped him off at daycare for the first time yesterday morning and I didn't cry.  Throughout the day I was surprised to find I didn't miss him nearly as much as I expected... I am not sure if this is a bad thing or not.  To my credit, being a 3rd grade teacher does NOT give me a lot of time to sit around missing my baby!

2.  Since yesterday was my first day back, it was also my first day pumping at school.  I was so careful to not spill... but I didn't pay enough attention and I managed to overfill my bottles and leaked some pretty big spots on my pants!  UGH.  Luckily, it was jeans day, and I had dark jeans on... but still...

3.  I was so excited to go pick Thomas up from daycare yesterday.  I thought for sure he'd be excited to see me.... He was asleep.  And when he woke up he simply cried because he had been woken up.  :(  Not quite the excited reunion I was hoping for.

4.  My sweet neighbor, Emily, made me cookies for my first day back.  I had to force myself to not eat them ALL.  But I did manage to stop with one left! :)

5.  I am blogging from work... though technically before contract hours... but I still feel like a bit of a rebel!  HA... I'm so big and bad, huh?

6.  This is less of a confession and more a funny story... last night somehow I managed to lock the handle of my bathroom door and then closed it when I was OUTSIDE of it.  So after a middle of the night feeding, I went to use the bathroom and was LOCKED OUT!  We do not have push locks (which I know are easily opened with a coat hanger)... so I had to wake poor Todd up at almost 3 AM to try to get my door unlocked.  He did finally manage to do it... with a coat hanger! :)

7.  While the purpose of a fast is to spend the time you would have spent doing the thing you gave up praying or reading the Bible I am sad to say I simply found other junk (like games on my kindle or tv) to fill my time... but the good side is I did learn I could survive without being on facebook ALL THE TIME!

So there you have it... my confessions.  Enjoy your day!
